ΠΟΛΙΣ — Athens

Rule Athens for 272 years on the current of history — a city-state simulation from Solon to the death of Alexander.

In-game overview of Athens: the walled city seen from above, framed by the game's gold interface.
In-game: Athens from above.

Govern classical Athens across 272 unbroken years (594–322 BC). Steer family factions, the favour of the gods, and shifting alliances through 405 historical events — as the tide of history carries your city, inexorably, toward 322 BC.

  • Turn-based, one month at a time. No timers, no twitch.
  • Hundreds of researched historical events, illustrated with public-domain paintings.
  • A hand-built 3D Athens: the Acropolis, the Agora, the Long Walls to Piraeus.
  • Nine languages.

Windows (PC) Released 9 July 2026

In development Working title Metroidvania Pixel art PC

Catvania

You are a stray cat in a real, recognisable Tokyo — Yanaka, Ueno, Asakusa and beyond.

A cat's body is the rulebook: squeeze through gaps, climb with your claws, balance along rails, land on your feet. By day you are a small animal the city ignores. By night the same streets change shape, and the city's old folklore wakes up. Sleep is the only way to switch between the two.

Pixel-art street in Yanaka by day: low houses, a vending machine and a notice board under a pale sky.
Work in progress: a Yanaka street by day.
The same pixel-art Yanaka street at night, lit in blue.
Work in progress: the same street by night.

In development Working title Arcade Single-screen PC

Submarine Battle

Easy to learn in thirty seconds, hard to survive twenty-one stages.

A single-screen arcade game. You command a surface ship: move left and right, drop depth charges on submarines and sea creatures lurking at different depths, dodge what comes up from below — and don't catch yourself in your own blast.

About

Ginkgo Interactive

Ginkgo is a small independent game studio. We build our games in Godot, and we care more about getting the subject right than about scale: a real city, a real stretch of history, a mechanic you can learn in thirty seconds.
